Week of Global Interfaith Dialogue -- 2007

Buddhist-Muslim Dialogues

THE FIRST ANNUAL

WEEK OF GLOBAL INTERFAITH DIALOGUE

IS CELEBRATED AROUND THE WORLD

The Week of Global Interfaith Dialogue, initiated by Global Family for Love and Peace (GFLP), encourages individuals and organizations around the world to share the values common to all religions. In support of the observance of the United Nations International Day of Peace and Interdependence Day, the Week of Global Interfaith Dialogue is generating a critical mass of positive energy and focus, facilitating a greater understanding of our interconnectedness and of our responsibility for each other.

During the first week in September 2003 interfaith programs were held at United Nations headquarters in New York, in South Africa, Iran, India, China (Hong Kong), the UK, Jordan (with the Interfaith Encounter Association of Israel, the Egyptian Interfaith Association and the Jordanian Interfaith Action), Jerusalem, Mozambique, Pakistan, and Taiwan. Next year, the Week of Global Interfaith Dialogue will expand to include many more communities, as we create, in the words of Dharma Master Hsin Tao, founder of GFLP and the featured presenter at the United Nations dialogue, "tolerance and friendship as the basis for future cooperation."
