THE WEEK OF GLOBAL INTERFAITH DIALOGUE
SPONSORED BY GLOBAL FAMILY FOR LOVE AND PEACE
SEPTEMBER 15-21 2007

The United Nations General Assembly has declared that the International Day of Peace be observed on September 21st as “… a day of global ceasefire and non-violence, an invitation to all nations and people to honor a cessation of hostilities.” The Week of Interfaith Dialogue creates, in the words of Dharma Master Hsin Tao, the founder of Global Family for Love and Peace and the featured presenter at the dialogue held at the United Nations, “unity and friendship as the basis for future cooperation.”

The Week of Global Interfaith Dialogue is also a presentation of the Global Family for Love and Peace Cooperation Circle (www.uriccs.org), one of the over 300 cooperation circles formed in conjunction with the United Religions Initiative.  Cooperation Circles are created by people of different traditions who come together to initiate acts of interfaith cooperation.  The Week of Global Interfaith Dialogue also is one of the partners of We, The World's 11 Days of Global Unity, creating a culture of peace and celebrating a sustainable future.

During the week of September 15th-21th 2007 GFLP organized the Fifth Annual Week of Global Interfaith Dialogue. In previous years the Week of Global Interfaith Dialogue had been celebrated in Iran, India, Israel, Jordan, Pakistan, Mozambique, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Australia, Taiwan, Province of China, Finland, the Philippines, the UK, and in many locations in the United States.

Some of this year's participants:
